Not an argument here, Rufus, I offer a similar perspective. At a legit place, my approach has been slightly different. At a busy restaurant where It may take an hour for dinner, a 15-20% tip is pretty standard for a waiter who probably spends less than 10-15 minutes serving you, while also earning the same percentage from 3-4 other tables. That 15-20% multiplied by the cost of dinner and # of tables they handle. A highly trained masseuse doesn't have that option, they serve in a very physically demanding way for the entire hour, and you benefit in a healthy way.
