So I haven't been in the game for a min but got an interesting message today. Someone text my phone and immediately called trying to extort money from me. I didn't answer the call. The message read something along the lines of I wasted some girls time and they have all this info about me and if I don't call for resolution they are going to kill my family. So anyway, not to worried about it as I'm single and have no kids. But just want to make guys in the hobby aware of this bs going on. It happens rarely but still is important to be aware of. There are several things you should be doing to protect yourself and families if you have them.

1. Use a discreet phone number and email that you can't be identified on. Text now is great and it is free.

2. Never give a girl personal info about yourself.

3. Never ever send a deposit..

I would add Never allow a working girl to use your phone for any reason. Doesn't matter who she claims to be calling, it will always be her dealer.

This is a bog-standard mass email scam, known as the Cartel scam. Shows up about once a day on are / scams on Reddit, worded exactly like this They've got nothing on you, just like the Hello Pervert email scam where they claim to have hijacked your cam and have pics of you jerking it. They've got nothing. Delete and move on.

I figure you know that, BigMac. But I'm a bit of an amateur scamologist and want to pass on the PSA to folks who don't spend time looking into these things.

4. Only go on a date with the donation amount you plan to use. Leave your wallet in the car. If the girl is going to rob you it's better to lose a little than your whole wallet.

5. Bring your own protection. If you don't like using protection that is fine but the consequences are usually not worth it if you catch something.

6. Never fall in love. These girls are working for money. They don't and won't love you back.

7. Don't fall for these extortion tactics. It's usually some desperate girls bf or from a fake profile you might have text. If your using a viop number like text now, it's very difficult to get any info on you.

8. When looking at ads make sure the ad looks complete. If the pictures look fake or they have fake info, some commonly I see is like the location will just say downtown or in your area or north, something very generic so it probably is a fake profile. Also if the girl is really hott she probably doesn't enjoy water sports etc. Just use your brain when looking at these things. Also if the area code is way off it could definitely be fake.

Anyway that's just a short list. Feel free to add to it. Just want everyone out there being safe.
