Random thoughts re immigration enforcement during the current fed administration

Having read posts from other forum members on this issue, I noted that the incoming (if confirmed) FBI Director made a comment during his confirmation hearing that sex trafficking enforcement would be high on his list of priorities. What's said in a hearing doesn't always translate into policy, but it would be a mistake to not take it seriously.

FWIW, here are some random thoughts on the issue:

    1. Although "trafficking" may serve as the headline issues, it seems to me that the underlying imperative is to get rid of as many "undesirable" individuals who are in the US illegally. With the current LE definition of "trafficking" covering nearly all prostitution-related activities, it's the perfect pretext for initiating removal procedures against women who work in AMPs, LMPs, and many (most?) agencies.

    2. Fed investigative agencies, no matter what their priorities, are often limited by inadequate manpower, which is why they usually partner with local LE for anti-trafficking operations. In fact, it's more often the case that enforcement starts at the local level and, if circumstances and conditions warrant, the Feds are asked to join in.

    3. Local LE can be incentivized by money (grants, and other programs) made available by Fed and State govt's for anti-trafficking enforcement.

    4. Local LE is also influenced by factors like community sentiment, media attention, etc.

In light of the above, I'm certainly concerned and will be watching for "tells" as to which way sentiment is trending. Since this is NOVA, the environment is much different from what it would probably be in a more thoroughly conservative (ex. Red State) area. So it seems to me that some local LE might be reluctant to engage in anti-trafficking if it's a near certainty that deportation will follow. Remember that previously the women themselves have been treated as victims, and the heaviest penalties have been laid on the bosses.

So here's what I'll be looking for:

    - Any local, state, or fed LE public statements about anti-trafficking enforcement. And especially any indication that grant money is going to stay the same or be increased. That's not a given since fed grant money has been mostly frozen while Elon Musk's DOGE reviews are ongoing. No matter what's being said, it's the level of funding that will dictate the realities.

    - When the next "trafficking" bust happens, will the women be characterized as deportable criminals, or victims? And, by characterized, I'm including both what's said by LE and the local media.

    - What difference in treatment, if any, will be experienced by women with green cards as compared to women without any documentation? I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that green card holders could be in jeopardy if the feds push felony charges, which a "trafficking" scenario would make easier.

    - Finally, since it's fair to say that the transition from the old to new administration is pretty chaotic at the moment, I'm likely to give less weight to anything that happens right now and more weight to things that are said and done once all agency heads are in place and things get rolling in earnest.

    Just my two-cents' worth.

Well. Seems like a lack of well-informed perspectives. I was NOT asking about how KK snd Tara will fare. I'm sure they will be fine. Because one and hopefully both are now citizens.

I was curious about the vast majority of providers at CAMPS, KAMPS, LAMPS, Thai independents etc.

Bottom line, no one knows, which is probably part of the administration's strategy.

P.S. I'm having trouble accessing the site. Probably due to the advertising splash page. So my access is limited.

    An Invaluable Service

An indispensable service that allows many of us the stay in school long enough to get multiple degrees and to keep high paying jobs. How and what's the connection? They permit us to ignore and take a hands-off approach to the women at work and on campus because we know can stop by an AMP and find something far more attractive.

    For What It's Worth

Along same concerns of ICE raids, I'm seeing a renewed emphasis regarding human trafficking and forced labor. Virginia now requires formal training on topic by licensed health care providers and education employees.

One point in this is how the training opened my eyes to how many MPs and groups fit the descriptions, which could make them on some groups radar.

Another point begs the question, is or will LEO agencies start cracking down on the handlers / owners of these places? Especially after ICE exhaust their lists of violent illegal immigrants?

Let's be safe and aware of these situations so we're not caught with our pants down (pun intended).

Those 2 might be naturalized through marriage (real or contract), or other pathways to citizenship. If they're citizens, ICE won't target them.

    We need more providers

This leads me to wonder. For the various Thais that come through (I don't mean old timers like KK and Tara) and the CAMP and KAMP girls that may be around for a couple of weeks or months, then hightail it back to NYC. What kind of papers do these girls have (or are they undocumented)? Do the Thais come here on a tourist visa for 3 months, make $$, go back home, then return in 6 months?

How might all this ICE theater affect AMP staffing? I do not know the facts, and am interested to hear knowledgeable opinions.

    Thanks!

    That Sucks

That Sucks! I wonder if it's just those arrested in Massachusetts and not Virginia? I'm glad I did not visit any of these places too. This reminds me of that high end escort service arrest in Charlotte, NC in the late 2000's. The madam running the show flipped and gave up all the names to the Feds to receive a reduced sentence. She and her husband served federal time. Two mongers were implicated too, they had their charges dismissed after attending the 10-hour "John School. " Real embarrassing for one as he was the owner of a several car dealerships and had a daughter in high school at the time. It was the talk of local radio. Over ten years later and the rest of the names have not been released. Also, the car dealer owner died in a small plane crash.

You might know the answer. Are both of these girls the same person. If you go see her, it's easy to verify the tattoo. The ad I posted might say it's two different girls. "Precious and Rare Jade" I never refer to the woman in the first photograph as Jade.
