I used to fundraise for a charity where we'd cold call a list of numbers in a neighborhood. I can't imagine me paying 500. I've passed on many due to excessive price. But if a girl wants to ask for it, it's her business. There's no harm in her asking. In economic terms, the market will self-correct.

There's truth in that, but it's also not the full story. The upfront higher fee, yes, it's weeding people out. But, you make it seem like it's what they settle for 90% of the time. I don't think it is.
