And in other news, the scam being used is that when a prepaid card is declined, the scammer will take the rejected card info input into the system and order off eBay with it.

Has happened to me twice. Both using gift card all / Blackhawk prepaid cards. I think there is a timing issue for when the cards get registered and then become available for online purchases.

Not sure if it is customer service for seeking that used the rejected card info for the scam or someone in the payment processing office. Just a heads up. I've switched to a debit card and have statements sent electronically; and tie the new checking account to my office address. Terrible opsec if the SO decides she wants a divorce and obtains discovery of financial records. Enough opsec to avoid a conversation about why there are weird charges on a card though.
