Anne texted me since I'm a regular and let know she's back in town. Thought I'd check out whether Comfort Spa on Ashland and Addison changed its tune at all. It has all the hallmarks of a L1 joint, but it seems like it's totally legit.

The good news is Crystal was friendly and gave a top notch therapeutic massage. I didn't try too hard, but the vibe was definitely no extras on offer. YMMV, but I'd go there for a great relaxing legit massage. Who knows, maybe a little nudge would get a handy, not likely.
