My opinion of Gastonia hotels:

Midtown Motor Inn. Dangerous shithole full of drugs and thugs. I will not go there.

Hotels on Remount Rd near Cracker Barrell (Courtyard, Comfort Suites, Fairfield) - Nicest, most expensive, but safe.

Hilltop. Bottom of the barrel. Dirty and dangerous. Too much drug activity, you might get caught up in a drug bust there.

Hotels on the hill (Broadcast St) - near Showmars. Not great and not too bad either. Just mid level. Safe but lots of people hanging outside and in cars.

Quality Inn on Cox by IHOP. OK but I'm scared of trouble there with no easy escape route.

Gaston Inn / Rodeway beside Agave Mexican. Dangerous and drug infested, like Midtown.

CVE is safe and cheap, it's just not a hotel. Take your girl there and fuck her in the couples theatre (she needs to have ID).

So, the cheaper it is the more likely there's trouble there. But that's where the girls who need money are staying. It just comes with the territory if you monger at a cheap hotel.

Be careful, pay attention to surroundings, and don't go late at night.
