By default, if you do not reply to this letter, they will! This is exactly what I meant when I said you agreed to share all this info without realizing it. Not just to your credit report, but internally with other companies that no one can see or access. But it's obvious when all these offers arrive in the mail. It's even more obvious if you decide to add a middle initial and suddenly for the next few months and years offers come in using that middle initial. So just FYI that this is not the government, they are fucking lazy. This is your credit report and every company you had financial dealings with. Same thing with your rewards membership at the supermarket and other places, I use a fake name there and then watch the ads come in with that name. Certain kind of internal sharing is completely legal, and you even gave them that permission if you read the fine print. But most people don't read that or remember. Cool, just FYI.

It's nothing to worry about. Fear, FOMO, and gatekeeping are always the real enemies in this hobby. If you want to be afraid of one thing, it's of a car accident.
