The older I get the more I have to lose and the more conservative I become, but I would never offer a ride to anyone without eye contact first. And even then I'd think long and hard if it was outside the loops.

The North Side is a whole different game. I haven't rolled there in a long time, but my understanding is that the only real stretch is Lisbon from 27th to 35th. Maybe North Av from 35th to 27th and again just east of Fond-du-Lac Ave around like 18th. However it's somewhat more likely on the North Side to see someone waiting for a bus or something like that that might be down for some fun for bill money or walk around cash. I had that happen a few times 15-20 years ago at random spots, but even then they always made eye contact and gave a smile or a little wave.

Bottom line. Even within the loops sometimes a woman walking down the street is just a woman walking down the street. Without some kind of acknowledgement, strong eye contact, hopefully a nod, smile or wave, I'm not risking it. And I'm not circling more than once, because if you come by more than twice with no acknowledgement you're probably just creeping out or scaring some woman walking down the street.
