Yeah I'd even go so far to say this is fake (area code gives it away); the deepfake scammer accounts send these types of texts they get from listcrawler ad inquiries to get you to pay them money / crypto as "make things go away" as a half assed attempt at blackmail. They usually use this angle, the "the girl you are talking to is actually underage so pay me or I tell the cops / family", or the "I am part of a Mexican gang cartel so cashapp me or I will harm your family".

Use VOIP apps and block these and if they get too annoying, just make a new number.

Also why do scammers ask for ebay/google/apple gift cards? Especially if they are international (say India, Nigeria) all they need is the 4 digit code from the fraudulently acquired gift card; then the scammers make in-app purchases on fake apps created for the sole purpose of funneling the gift card money into a 'legitimate' bank account (or they give it a mule in the States who does this for a piece).

She wanted an eBay card from me too. Said you can get one at CVS. So I ended up getting her a CVS card. She said sent a pic of the last 4 digits that are covered. Problem is the CVS PIN is only 4 digits, Bye Bye.

Thanks for all who warned me. I went through with this to see how it works. I offered her cash, visa gift cards, amazon gift card but she insisted on Ebay gift card. She also kept saying that I don't need to send her the whole PIN. Just the last 4 digits. There is no way anyone can steal your money without the whole Pin, right?

Why Ebay? What is so special about it? I wanted to find out. So, I bought one for $20 (The cheapest I could find). I scratched off to reveal only the last 4 digits of the 10 digit PIN. I covered the rest of the card to hide the other numbers and sent her a pic. She wanted to see the entire card but with only the 4 digits of the PIN. She sent me a picture of what she needed. She insisted that, since she couldn't see the whole PIN, I was safe.

So how does she scam you? Well, in addition to the card number and the PIN, Ebay gift cards have three more sets of numbers at the bottom. The last 6 numbers of the number at the bottom-left are the first 6 digits of the PIN. So, all she needed was the last 4 digits of the actual PIN.

That is why they want Ebay gift card and only Ebay gift card.

I decided to play along and sent her a picture of the card but covered the numbers at the bottom. She cam back asking me not to cover anything. Fun!

P.S.: She was really really nice, sweet and sexy. Sent me a lot of her nude pics and videos. She was even ready to make a video of her with her saying my name. Once I knew exactly what is going on it was fun playing the game. I still have no idea whether it was a her or a him though.
