This is one of the oldest scams out there. Never buy gift cards. This person probably wasn't even in the US.

Cash is king. Anyone asking for a gift card that is part of the service is a scammer. If she has a gift card wish list, that's a different story. But do you really want to send someone a gift card just because she exists?
