This is one of the oldest scams out there. Never buy gift cards. This person probably wasn't even in the US.

Cash is king. Anyone asking for a gift card that is part of the service is a scammer. If she has a gift card wish list, that's a different story. But do you really want to send someone a gift card just because she exists? Anyway, it's good you didn't send the full card info but now you know and have shared with other newbies--no deposits, no gift cards, if you want to do that, just send the info to one of us and will use your gift card for you. Beware of this provider. They advertise bare full service. They (I have no idea if this is a man or a women, only communicated via text) insist on an $200 eBay card for payment. I got the card and then tried to book time. They then insisted that I scrape off the last 4 numbers of the code and take a full card picture. I did scratch off 3 numbers and took a picture that hid the card number but showed the 3 code numbers. She wanted a picture of the full card. We went back and forth a few times. At this point I felt manipulated and told them I was done. They then kept trying to get me to provide picture and even accused me of backing out of the meeting through several back and forth. I would show a picture but I have no idea what this person really looks like. So now I have and eBay card that is limited for use (can only use on eBay) and no service. And feeling used, manipulated and angry for falling for this scam. I guess it goes with the territory. I told them I was going to report them so I wouldn't be surprised they posted a rebuttal. Anyway, just wanted to share in the hopes of saving someone else the trouble.
