No mystery. Providers and AMP owners use Wechat to advertise and seek openings. The girls are mostly "journeymen "; Mamasan's generally take over a lease from another Asian mamasan. A few renovated old store fronts and set up spa fixtures. I know this directly from at least 5 provider's / Mamasans. Providers usually stay a month or 2 unless business strong. Business owners also like to provide new / fresh players to draw in more business. If successful with first store then owners open a second and third. One gal from 6 Star went to New Mexico and started 3rd spa in Texas. That's the magic of the American Dream. Mongernomics.

I saw a store with front windows with papered ad photos of Asian ladies massaging. Overhead sign still says "Super Wash"; Hispanic workers putting in new flooring and carpeting; entry was the typical "speak easy set up" about 6 rooms down hallway. Oh boy! New adventures for me.
