With some of the bare / STD talk in recent posts, where do you guys go for testing? I looked quick at one of the major labs in CT and it was something like $250 which seemed kind of steep. I get tested periodically, so IK that I am negative for HSV-2, and all my practices are aimed at keeping it that way. It starts w / who I see, and then what I do when I see them. Simple. I don't want to get into any debates, but you should look for yourself at the CDC statistics on seropositivity to HSV-2 by age and race.

If you are active in any of the activities covered on this site, and you have a SO who you actively have a physical relationship with, you really better know everything there is to know, and have a lot of self-control. Passing something / anything to the SO is the fastest road to divorce (no comment about morality).

It's also important to note that, in my experience, STD panels usually don't include HSV testing. You need to specifically ask for it.

Even you CFS 100% there still oral herpes and other non STD you can get from LFK and what not, is part of the risk you take on from this hobby. I just like to think the girls are more worry about catching something than us since it can put them out of work for a while and hurt their rep.

While HSV-1 and HSV-2 can cross-infect, they strongly prefer their region (oral herpes the mouth, genital herpes the genitals). Certainly if you have an outbreak of cold sores (HXV-1) or a flare up (HSV-2), I would refrain from kissing or sex. That is the highest risk period by far. It took me 10 years on this hobby to get genital herpes so if you have a problem with herpes you better find another hobby soon.

Yeah. But even after years in this hobby (decades really) and being sexually free outside the hobby, I've still never gotten HSV-1. They say it's not possible to be immune, but I often wonder if I am proof they are wrong LOL.

And then there are the two Herpes strains, which I consider to be acceptable risks because even though it is possible to get it with no sores, the odds are FAR lower of spreading between breakouts.

But even the curable ones have terrible long term effects if you don't test, find them, and then cure them.

Tested positive for Chlamydia. I get tested for everything every few months. Even if it weren't against the rules, I still wouldn't try to speculate on who gave it to me because I have seen a few since my last test.

Only posting this as a reminder to please get tested periodically. I have no symptoms. It's curable, but only if you know about it.

That sucks. I get tested 3-4 times a year. I know talking with some peeps in LA / SJ they get tested more often. If you dabble in this hobby you need to get checked out. I was lazy and just went into an urgent care after a trip from a SJ and came back clean (knock on wood).
