Yeah. That's my experience in other countries and when I used seeking in the past, treating it more like a dating site gave much better results. But when you're only in town for a few days once or twice a year there's no way to avoid being transactional.

It's our nature to want to humanize these online scams but it's not that "the girl wasn't my type anyway", there probably was no girl. I never blame this kind of thing on "the girls". There's fucking Triad gangs running call center like operations of online scams staffed with trafficked and blackmailed people. Agree! It's not just about the money, you need a bit of game too to lure these girls out. Don't make it too easy, don't sound too desperate, etc etc. If you are willing to lay out $1 k, you should not have any issues getting action. Yes, a lot of the profiles are fake. Maybe as many as ninety percent of them. I make a point of chatting with them in messages enough to suss out whether they are obviously fake, and usually you can catch them in a lie that shows they aren't from where they say they are. Also they often lose patience and just hit you up for money before meeting up.

PSA: If they ask you for money before you meet and you send them money you will never meet them. Ever. I just make it clear to them there is a lot of money waiting for them when they show up to my hotel room.

How do you like traveling for seeking / things like that? I've thought about doing it but when you do the math with flight + hotel cost even higher priced locally is better.
