The fact that you can still find a decent looking date at or around that price all these years later is pretty stunning. Before the indi / agency boom, 200-300 was a normal rate, and this was 25 years ago. When the agencies started looking for overseas talent, prices went down. If anyone ruined the game, its the DD / Tootsies / BT mongers who are willing to walk in, drop 200 for 10 minutes and walk out. There are so many options out there. You just have to be patient, and find what works for you and your budget. Times change, the agencies all for the most part are gone. Its your choice to entertain the GPS girls or not. They are making a living. Trying to pretend what a good business model for them is futile. Work with what you got or try finding talent in other places.
