Just like we are a community of clients, they are a community of providers. They may not necessarily be friends but they do communicate, even when they are stealing from each other and beating each other senseless (which is quite the common occurrence). Personally, I don't believe anything they say or do. Only a very few have earned my trust and even that is limited. My point is that there's a real risk that pissing one of them off will infect the herd and I experience this often. They have a nickname for me that I won't share here but a large percentage of them are very aware of who I am and what I post.

The problem with this is that then that provider goes back and tells all her pals that you don't pay. That would only compound my current reputation as the "bad review" guy. And, yes, this isn't as anonymous as you'd suspect. They definitely know who I am and it doesn't deter them from performing poorly. They don't care. They have no concept of repeat business.
