Many speak English quite well. Have you never been or seen any videos. The resort towns and night life bars are dominated by old white guys and young thais.

a friend of mine just went with 2 guys in their late 50s/early 60s and after their first trip they already planning to return in January and both are very very interested in retirement in Thailand within the next 3 years. puhaha. neither speak Thai.
