It almost sounds backwards. From what I read, the John gets charged but not the prostitute. Interesting. It also looks like they are more cracking down on the Motels and Resorts that are letting it go unchecked on their properties. House Bill 971 now makes soliciting a prostitute a Class I Felony for a 1st time offender (previously it was a Class 1 Misdemeanor). It is still a Class H Felony for a 2nd or subsequent offense.

HB971 signed by Cooper. First offense is no longer Misd, now is a Felony like in Texas. Goes in effect this December. Would expect an uptick in stings and such as LEO now has a bigger charge to levy. Research what happened in Texas.
