All spas in Charlotte County, and likely Florida have a surveillance camera at a distance on the entrance. The entrance / exit process is under record. It will take little time for enough data to be logged to follow-up with an inspector (agent) simply asking for the record. FWIW read between the lines.
Also, the law requires all therapists must have an active license on record with the State of Florida. This represents an effort by the State to initiate a minimum standard to incur occupational gain by simply meeting the minimum standard for training and hours-in-training (on the job). They must be able to pass fluency. Also lesser potential for human trafficking when the masseuse is licensed.
This becomes of the record, have you kept records, etc. How does one know the surveillance issue? Many people know someone in local law enforcement (any county) or who works in county government and they have loose lips (pun).
This site is a killer when is comes to the client "loose lips" and "candy shop" type reports and is a record in itself. My surg tech enjoys massages and at times what cannot be found at a chiro office or in a franchised massage establishment.
Stay safe. Please contribute and again stay safe, many of the ladies are very nice people and don't need to be harassed by government. Fwiw. Drak.

Well it will change things but how much who knows, maybe not much at all. The law states they must keep record of who they treat for 1 year (name, address, phone) and verify it but that could mean they ask you if it is correct and no reason to use any real info if you did not want to. It is not required you show a license, law says "may include an I'd" "May" does not mean required and would be up to the establishment. Show your wine club card or nothing at all, good enough. The biggest requirement is the record keeping of who works there and that may deny some licenses because of records, etc. The window dressings and record keeping are added burdens but not hard to overcome. My guess you could see some establishments moving into different buildings or going into apartments / off the radar. People running most of these places are pretty well organized and operating in many different cities with different regs. All of this is likely to track down some of the finances which don't get reported. All the rest only time will tell.

BTW the majority of legit massage places I've visited in the country don't require anything. Some want a name and address, none have required an I'd. This law was being pushed by the legit people because they are being hit up for extras. Idiots doing this create additional attention and laws.

Posts: 82Everyone should definitely be paying attention because if they ask for copies of driver's licenses and such even for customers, then that would pretty much be the end of all of it in the state. It isn't a thing either a new governor would undo so that is the end of it I think in Florida.

Posts: 82Kind of steep though. Is that with everything? And most importantly, worth it?

I am surprised that this forum has not discussed HB 197, going into effect in a few days:

Went to the Latin place on Kenwood. It was ok. I had higher expectations. I thought I read that it was English speaking but the girl didn't speak any. Nada.
She was very pretty so I went for it anyway. The massage never happened but BBBJ and FS covered. No Greek. Which also was something I thought I read was available there. Her boob job was crap and left her scarred. I hope she didn't pay much.
I'll probably go back. I had been told when I made the appointment 4 hands was available but she was alone when I arrived.
Maybe I confused Kenwood with a different place? I recall someone sharing about a place with a comment to the effect "at least they speak English there".
Is there another place in Ft Myers which is non-Asian, speaks English, and offers Greek?

Posts: 72Try the New Moon Massage on Del Prado in the cape. 11XX address. Ask for LeeAnn great body cute and is great at massage and all other departments. Hour is $70, Half is $50. I did pau $180 for extras but was worth it. I was not disappointed at all she even went over the hour with all clothes off. Going back Wednesday I think for half hour forget massage and do extras the whole time.

Stopped in yesterday and got Coco who was a bit older than I would like. Body was decent enough, but not really my type. Decided on 45 min as I was looking for a good rub as much as anything. Well there was no oil used or any real pressure despite asking for medium / strong pressure. There was teasing at the 15 minute mark before the flip which I thought was a little early. She offered L3 but I wasn't interested, so we settle on L1 for. 5 which she wanted up front. I should have just stood firm on the after, but whatever. These AMP girls demanding tip upfront is a little out of control. During the L1 no touching was encouraged, but she finished the deed. After cleanup, more poor massage technique was used and she shorted me about 10 minutes. Overall 2/10 experience.
I've been to too many other AMPs in more thriving markets around the state and it's tough to find good service around here. I've had other visits at AAA that were just okay, but that was my final visit there. Too much attitude is the consistent variable here and they aren't attractive enough nor is the service good enough to warrant any of that. Next time I may make the drive to Sarasota as I hear some good things, but don't think I can justify the drive. Good luck gentlemen.

I agree with Mr CondomPopper. It's important to know what you want and how much you want to spend before you enter any of those places. I always tell them what I want (not in the lobby), for how long and how much I want to spend including house fee. If I don't like the appearance of the masseuse, I'll not ask anything and just leave. If I like the looks and vibe of the masseuse but she won't agree to the amount then I'll leave.
It's important to be willing and ready to say "no" and to turn around and leave.

Posts: 285Yes it's definitely much slower. Personally I do not care what season it is. IMO bringing in $$ for everything is the correct amount. That includes door fee. Personally I always get a half hour. I always hand over the $$ up front and say this is what I pay for everything. If anyone argues I take my money back and go down the street. There are lots of them that simply say yes and provide the service.
