Had something similar happen last year with a SB from Dundalk. Don't recall her name (she blocked me), but she'd been positively reported by a senior once. After a public meet halfway between us & chatting for a good hour, I tactfully broached the topic of heading to a nice hotel nearby--to which she looked aghast & said she's not that type of girl. Puzzled, I asked what she meant then by listing "NSA" on her page as one of her interests. She replied that's only to "get guys' attention" & that she was also expecting 300 for the M&G. Said her time was valuable & that she can "offer a girlfriend experience without intimacy. " I literally laughed out loud, then started heading to my car. She then had the nerve to ask for a ride back (since she took an Uber). After telling her to get lost, she tried making a scene but there weren't many people around the plaza that late. Not that I would've cared otherwise, what were some random Starbucks patrons going to do, haha?

Honestly, I don't know where these chicks get the idea that their time is more valuable than ours, how they think putting in minimal effort is going to be rewarded, or how they think they can get a single penny for a simple M&G. Odd locations, particularly when they are known to be high net worth areas, make me think that the scammers are choosing them because a search told them lots of rich people live there. You see this with neighborhoods in large cities, too. Very few people who live in DC itself would put in their actual neighborhood, so when I see that, it is usually a sign that the profile is fake.

I too have noticed this. Ashburn location used for some smokin' hot Asian women who are definitely TGTBT and use strangely-worded prose.

I do have a theory tho (in jest) - with the proliferation of wall-to-wall data farms in the Ashburn area, Seeking generates a fictitious profile for every X million of Seeking searches routed through those data farms.

BTW, have something set up for Tuesday with a POT who uses "Virginia, Virginia. " We'll see. . . . . .

I've noticed lots of scam profiles using "Ashburn" as a location. I'm not saying all profiles from Ashburn are fakes / scams, but that's how I approach them all.

And their ages are almost all mid to late 30's and most of them look mid 20's at the oldest, a lot of the verbiage is the same or close to it and they all have "True Love" as one of their tags. Whoever makes these fake profiles gets lazy and uses the same pattern over and over. Makes it easy to sniff them out.

Fake / scam. Convincing at first. When I asked her to send a picture of her somewhere in public in the area (so I could confirm from the background that she was indeed in the area), she sent me a bad photoshop job of her in front of the Artisphere in Rosslyn saying she had just done a photo shoot there. The Artisphere's been closed for a decade.

Good catch. Also interacted with this scammer. Wanted to go to telegram or WhatsApp. Went to WhatsApp and they wanted money up front as well. That's always a no go. Asked them to send a hand signal verification pic and they ghosted.

Got a random hello on my Telegram today. I don't use it often, but I just so happened to be using it with the last scam person. The person claimed to be someone I met on seeking but didn't identify a username. She then asked for my name and I told her "Peter Nincompoop," to which she sent a brief video clip that showed a woman brushing back her hair with her hands and saying "Hello Peter, is your name really Nincompoop?" The video seemed authentic and the lip movements aligned with the speech, but the voice felt almost robotic and didn't pronounce Peter correctly. I don't think the video was AI itself but perhaps they've got some sort of technology that can adapt phrases to pre-recorded videos?

Anyway, pretty striking stuff.
