Local vs visiting providers
NOVA unfortunately has a reputation as a market that will support higher price levels and is also on the safer side (from a providers point of view). We've always had a relatively high proportion of visiting providers, both short-term and longer.

The problem with visiting providers, esp those in a quasi-agency situation, is that there's little incentive to establish a good reputation by providing great service. That's not to say that all of them don't care, but it can definitely be hit-or-miss. For local providers, they sink or swim entirely based on their reputation. That's a strong incentive to not skimp on service.
Most locals, IME, are pretty good about not using fake pics and not requiring excessive screening. I'm sure there are some exceptions but, in general, fake pics and requiring a client selfie is a red flag to me that I'm dealing with a visitor rather than a local. Also, for the sake of completeness, there are longer-term visitors who stay for weeks or months and then go back to their home base for a bit before returning to NOVA. Two who come to mind, in that category, are (No Pain, No Gain) Candy and Ronda.
Every monger has his own preferences and tastes, of course, but I prefer seeing providers who are local and have an incentive to cultivate satisfied regulars.

I agree there's a lot of new Thai girls coming in and I've tried to see them but they ask for my picture which is a big no for me. So I steer clear of them. Last thing I need is my pictures out there.
Maybe someone else who's seen the newer Thai girls can comment if their pictures are real or not.

Sand bagging
There are a ton of new Thai independents advertising in Tysons corner right now. Not sure why everyone keeps talking about the older and crusty providers in this forum. I've seen a bunch at the Crianza Pl location but they share fake pics most of the time.
Haven't anyone seen any new younger providers advertising on bedpage at all? Hard to believe.

As you noted, during the pandemic she stopped taking new clients and eventually dropped completely off the radar. I haven't had any success with subsequent contact attempts (either number). She's a sweetheart and I hope she's ok. It's certainly possible that she's returned to Thailand, but I have no way of knowing for sure.
It's also possible that some of the other Thai masseuses might have info, but you'd have to ask them. There is a "Thai Grapevine" and info gets around, but it's hit-or-miss as it depends on who knows who.

I've had Thai girls deman $300 for full playtime but I always talk them down. I tell them I know the game and you know it, so let's be real- in a respectful way- usually can get them down to $250. If not I walk. They know for $300 at an AMP you'll be treated as a king LOL.
