This isn't new with Mandela, which is the reason why a lot of new and curious Mongers visit there and never return due to the rates and the "maybe next time" approach. But a shortened massage time is something new. WTF. They're not even doing anything in between. What's the rush, they got errands to run or something? That's too bad. I went there the other day for the first time. I was very taken aback by the statement from the front desk that the session would be 45-50 minutes. I asked if they do longer sessions and was told no. The masseuse was an older lady with glasses, with strong massage skills. It would have been best if she had just stuck to a purely professional massage. She kept pushing the envelope, and it was obvious that I was fine with this. However, she ended the massage fairly brusquely with "maybe next time. "

Either way, I just cannot see the benefit of 45-50 minute session. At that length, it was neither fish nor foul, and neither particularly relaxing nor stimulating.

I've heard that business at Mandala has slowed down to the point that they may be closing. One of the ladies there told me that "they are getting old" and "their clients are getting old".
