I have done this, by request, on several occasions. It was never a scam, but more of a convenience for a 'friendly companion' that lacked transportation, along with a way to get an additional subtle $7 weaved into the deal. I just considered it a cheap special favor that helped break the ice.

However, I would only do this with someone I was familiar with, and not do it for anyone I didn't know well. I have heard that some 'LEO sting operatives' have been known to set up 'targets' by asking them to bring very 'specific' items to the adventure, so they can have proof that the 'setup' was not an accidental or unintentional 'misunderstanding'.

Sometimes I'll do a pack of smokes, but it comes out of the donation. I used to do it for other items but don't anymore unless I've seen her a few times. I've since learned that LE will oftentimes ask for a small, inexpensive item that showing up with can further validate that it was you who was texting them.

Is "can you pick up a pack of smokes?" a tactic used by scammers. I've actually never been scammed by a girl that asked me to do this. It DOES usually mean that she isn't ready and is trying to keep me occupied and increase my sunk cost. I would call the tactic unprofessional but not indicative of a scam.

Never heard of it being used by scammers. Some mongers say LEO can use it to verify it is you that they had been communicating with.

Might be to buy more time. I believe it is the girl needing something g and is too lazy to get it herself.

I used to be okay with indulging requests like this one ("can you pick up smokes? "can you drive me to xxx? etc..). No more though! Too many f'd up people doing f'd up things. You did the smart thing by bailing. Doesn't matter how hot she might be (and typically these types disappoint when you finally meet them), just keep moving along and find another.

When I got at the location there was some old worn out guy standing in the middle of the road. I don't know what he was saying but he kept pointing in the direction of the apartment that I was supposed to pick her up at. I literally had to slow down to a complete stop because I thought he needed help. I slowly drove off and told her about a man being in the road and she said, oh yeah someone took me to my apartment and the address is blah, blah, blah, and park in the back to see me. I replied with I pass! She replied a few minutes later with WTF.

I am positive that I avoided some kind of shit show. Stay clear of this chick!

Okay so I recently visited Dayton to do some shopping and thought I would visit a provider. I texted a few and got some pretty mixed results. Here is a summary of my efforts.
