Most progressives agree that sex work should be legalized and regulated to provide a safe environment for both providers and clients. I'm no attorney (so obviously this isn't meant to be legal advice), but I HIGHLY doubt that anything would come of it if your phone number was found out to be messaging a provider. The cops aren't after you. They're after the people who are organizing these alleged sex trafficking rings. But it should be worth noting that if you are messaging a provider, you really should be doing it from a burner number. There's tons of apps out there that offer free texting and calling from numbers that aren't attached to you or you could always go buy a pre-paid dummy phone from a gas station on 8 mile or something. I have one of those phones specifically for that purpose alone. It costed me $30 up front for the phone and then I spend maybe $20 every 6 months in credits to call or send texts. Worth every penny imo.

That's definitely a smart thing to do.

However I know for a fact that at least one of the places raided recorded cars / licenses as they parked, and tied that to you as they recorded you entering the doorway.

There is no way out of that one if they're set on identifying you.

I got a PM and tried to reply but your box is full. I know about the rooms because I have a friend that works at MGM (Detroit). Anytime I am in Detroit I stay at the MGM for free. They gave the master key to SET and they hit a room on the 12th floor and the 8th. They watched the entire thing go down on the camera's. I honestly think the 14 month watch started at the hotel. I say that because I Think (it is just a theory) I think it all started at the casino. The times I was staying there, it was a manager on day shift that did not like the amount of traffic going between the two rooms, manager could not do or say anything about it because they were paid up for 2 months at a time. If you been to MGM then you know that you can't just walk up to a room. Surely they had a spotter and knew when to approach and how to approach. One day according to my buddy this manager called a tip line after he noticed an employee leaving out of one of those rooms and started talking about it to others on the casino floor. So I think it could have started from there, like most of you I agree, if it is two Consenting adults and one decides to spend his casino winnings on some FS fun and the other party is ok with it then what is the big deal? It was a win win for everybody. Not one but Two rooms were being paid up for months at a time, it was clearly those already staying at the hotel going into the rooms. There was never any drama or fights, security was never notified of anything about problems in those two rooms. So exactly what is the issue?

If they are being forced over here or forced into working or forced to pay off a debt then yep lock them up. But if they are willing participants then I say leave them alone.

I'm listing the Spa's that were raided by SET that stands for (Macomb) Sheriff Enforcement Team.

They raided two Rooms at the MGM. I knew about the 12th Floor room the 8th floor room was a surprise to me.

They raided the residence in Troy. (Senior Mongers we know all too well about that UTR, well it's gone now).

The Spa's that were raided are. 7 Mile Spa (pricey but def fun). Bodyworks, Day Spa, Miracle and 7 day spa. They all got caught up in the raid. All the girls rotated from those spa's within those spa's anyway for FS. Ya'll stay safe out there because this all came after 14 months of surveillance.

Not that I'm trying to get into a political debate, but what does being pro-choice have to do with supporting sex work? I politically come from a more left leaning family and I can tell you that I have family members that support things like universal health care and gun control but still think poor people are lazy just like I have friends who are more right leaning and support things like better funding for public schools but also call black people the and word. Surprise surprise, human beings are complex and can't be stereotyped.

Let's say your phone records / texts were linked to one of the phones seized or you were recorded on camera entering the premises and that video was on laptop taken. Can anything happen to you from a legal standpoint?

You bet you can be in trouble. You may get a visit from the FBI or sheriff's office if they connect your number or license plate to one of those establishments.

As a result of the search warrants, a total of nine individuals (7 additional females & 1 male) were detained. Three individuals (2 females and 1 male) were turned over to Border Patrol for an overstay on their visas.

Additionally, five females were released pending misdemeanor charges.
Representatives from Turning Point were on site and provided resources for those individuals in need of support. Multiple women sought assistance from Turning Point and were provided with safe place to stay.

Approximately $35,000.00 in U.S currency and $6,700.00 in Canadian currency was seized, along with 22 cell phones, 1 laptop, and 1 tablet. Investigators are currently in the process of reviewing these electronic devices.

Looks like they also busted the MS' running transport and coordination of the girls.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office will be holding a 2:00 pm press conference this afternoon detailing 9 search warrants that were executed on December 13th to break up an alleged prostitution / human trafficking ring.

The MCSO says that the warrants were served at 5 Asian spas, two residential locations and 2 hotel / casino rooms.

And if it plays out like warren ohio, there will be no charges in exchange for the tens of thousands of dollars the cops confiscated.
