Add my voice to the term "old faithful" NOT being derogatory. Collins Dictionary defines the term: "You can refer to something that has been used or has existed for a long time as an old faithful, especially when it is something you can rely on. " Especially something you can rely on. Had the intent been to demean "old hag" would have done just that.

I have an old pickup, got from my dad. It always starts. Always. I call it "old faithful". Nothing but positive and complimentary nuances flow when I use that term. Lots of good things. Sometimes we just have to let others express themselves and accept varied opinions. And varied expressions. Rationality can impact expressions and meanings. So can age. But we can choose to not take offense.

Where I come from, "old faithful" refers to the guyser called "Old Faithful" and generally means "experienced and reliable". It's a compliment.
