The (il) legality of prostitution has many fine lines. And for LEO to even prosecute, they need to check all the boxes. They need to have evidence of you agreeing to sex in exchange for money. It is my understanding that if you decouple this is some way, that is more legal. I.E, you can have sex with a stranger for free and in a separate transaction, give them money for something else (or nothing), that would be fine. A few years back, people were saying "roses" instead of dollars. I think in some places weed was also being done like this. I. e. You would buy some stupid thing for a large sum of money and they would give you a gift of weed, or something dumb like that.

I'm no legal expert, so take all this with a grain of salt. But I am wise enough to know when something is obviously wrong.

Most porn made today is a one man band set up especially now with OF. How it goes is the adult male actor seeks talent and books the talent. Gambling has been proven to be extremely harmful, but Indian tribes realized they could make their own rules on their sovereign reservations and stick it to the people who kicked them off their own land, so they legalized it, enabling a massive stream of revenue, and off to the races we went. The potential harm was plowed under by the tax revenue and once states jumped on the bandwagon the neighboring states realized they were losing out, so most of them followed suit. CT and NJ enticed NY, NJ enticed DE who in turn enticed PA and MD.

Sex work, on the other hand, has been painted with the brush that everyone's being trafficked (which we know to be wrong), and there's a perception that if you need to pay for it that there's something wrong with you. To say nothing of the people who just want to indulge in their "disgusting" "deviant" fetishes.

There's no politician anywhere who thinks they can stand up for legalizing prostitution and believe that they're going to get re-elected the next time their seat is up for a vote, no matter what may be legal in Nevada (outside of Clark County, where the population growth caught up to the law and made it illegal there).

We have a looooooooooooong way to go before anyone is going to propose legalizing sex work in America.

When I read "high end brothel" I was thinking Jeffrey Epstein type of brothel, but looking over the names and prices, it just looks like EPM level brothels. It just looks like the k-girl (Korean) network might have something to worry about. I don't think the average patron of these establishments has too much to worry about. At least not at this moment. It would probably blow through other places before it gets to Philly. And they will probably target big name mongers with name recognition or government security clearance before it gets to the average joe.

Yea I saw this today. Politics is a dirty business. I think when the powers that be were tipped off of big names certain people decided to jump on it to advance a political career and make themselves look good for the public. When you're in politics you can't have dirt on you because your opponents will use it against you.

Just like the war on drugs nothing will stop the adult industry because there is too great of a demand and too much money involved. It's just every once in a while a bust will happen to let the public believe their tax dollars are at work or someone is looking to advance their political career.

This report came across my desk. I had to view it with a certain amount of skepticism. Kind of like closing the barn doors after the horses left.

I'm sure there was a bunch of good 'ol boys high-fiving and shoulder-slapping, and fist bumping. I'm looking at the numbers here, and they seem quite minuscule in comparison to the "real issue". Not even the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

From what I've seen this exercise in muscle flexing is for show only during a time when votes are the ultimate goal and not making the neighborhood a safe place to be in.

My opinion of those who sell or deal drugs are thugs and all those that make it possible are thugs. That includes those in city government and law enforcement who have way to long looked the other way. Why would they offer some thugs a diversionary program? These people already think they are above the law to engage in the activity they engage in. Do they think by offering a diversionary program they will have an epiphany and come to their senses? It's doubtful considering the vast economic differences.

Gov't created the issue by allowing people to do drugs on the streets and turning a blind eye for the sake of the vote. So while this will not make a dent, you have to start somewhere.
