Yeah, you should assume until proven otherwise that any "private" messages might be read by somebody. I'd even say that for your email accounts if you use gmail or Microsoft or Apple. Just don't leave anything in there (or from there) that you'd care to show to your Mom.

Their message system is truly bad, probably because of that, and also I think it's by design. Get negotiations off their site quickly as possible makes sense in terms of legal protection. Ignoring the scammers, I'd say a majority of successful WYP activity is just a side hustle for pros and pro-SBs. And they know to switch to google voice asap.
