Generally one shouldn't keep a wallet on one when engaged in the pursuit. Keep it locked in the trunk, and one should only keep in it the things necessary to legally cruise that you might need, namely your DL, insurance I'd card, and maybe a low limit credit card in case you want to get a room.

That way those things you don't need can't be stolen, and if needed, like if you get pulled over for some reason, the things you will be asked for will be in your trunk. And the car registration doesn't need to be there either. Never knew what to carry. Car dates are different to me. You don't have to have anything on you at all. It's all in the car. But even then, I don't keep important paperwork and information on me.
