I believe the biggest factor in providers inflated prices is the monopoly of several core Pimps / Handlers who oversee quite a few escorts. They have told their working girls to charge Qv 100-120, HH 150 and hr 200. If all the providers set the new higher prices and firmly told to adhere to set prices than true economics and supply / demand are not at work. Some girls do negotiate somewhat and others do not-depends usually if they are independent or have a handler. A guy has few options for lower cost providers if everyone is being told to set prices higher.

Way too much $$$ for the Pimps to not take total control of higher set prices and use inflation as an excuse to justify higher prices. If everyone falls in line that my friends is a Monopoly and we're screwed in more ways than one!

It sounds to me like you are one of the guys that are going along with the inflated pricing that escorts are charging. You really make it hard for other guys out here to see good escorts.

Nothing could be further from the truth and what you wrote about me is wrong. Let me try once again. If there's a girl charging a rate that I deem too high, there are a few things that I can do about it that could make a difference. I could try to negotiate or I could see someone else at a rate that I'm more comfortable with. There are girls at all different price points. Coming here and bitching about it accomplishes nothing, as does waxing poetic about the rates from long before I got my first grey hair. When I said that girls don't care what we think when it comes to setting their rates, I meant it and it had nothing to do with my hobbying practices. It's pure economics. They can charge what they want. If people come at the new rate, clearly they made a good choice for them (not us). If people stop coming at the new rate, they can lower their rate or sit in an empty hotel room. Again, none of that has anything to do with what we want.

This has been answered well by others. You refer to the "backpage era" a lot, so maybe you'll recall that in those days (and before), mongers routinely bitched about prices and also made the absurd assertion that we can control prices. Nothing new.

Secondly the escorts that are available now look worse than the escorts that I used to see in 2016 for 160 an hour or less so the idea that we have to pay more for quality is ridiculous.

Except that the volume of legit providers on STG has dropped steadily while high-end options (eros, tryst, agencies) have increased. When your budget is 160/ h you aren't going to notice that shift.
