The front page used to be useful. I used to when I wanted to diversify from the specific searches I have set up, just to make sure I was not missing out on anyone I might be interested in, for whatever reason. I honestly don't think they are running out of women, just run a specific search within a reasonable distance of your location, you will still find a boatload (especially in population sense southern California).
