While I don't condone her tactics, I think a lot of this was avoidable. First off, don't ever go to a strip club without a set amount of cash. Secondly, it's always best to be clear about what you expect and for how much in the VIP. As an example, last time I was there in a Wednesday, I just told the girls straight up that all I had was 80 bucks, and I just kept saying I wouldn't be able to tip. For one girl, that was enough to get her closer to her obligatory $180 threshold the club requires, and I got a CBJ. No dancing, just straight business. The time before that, the girl promised a good time, and I didn't negotiate. Things got hot and at the end she asked if I had a tip for her so I have like 25 bucks (which was low, I know). Second time with her, I told I had 80 for the VIP and could tip 80, and she said she was cool with that, so we went to the back and got the full service. Long story short, never use a card, always make clear how much you're willing to spend and reiterate that you won't be able to give them any more on top of that number (whatever you're comfortable with). Also, it's good to establish a vibe with them. Don't always go for the hottest chick; go with the one that's trying the hardest. If they don't sit with you for a bit and just do drive by dance requests, it's not going to be a good experience IMO. Live and learn. Paradise is still my club of choice for extras at a reasonable price.

Great advice, here's a little sample of my procedure and what kind of money to bring:

*Using Synn COI night time* ONLY HAVE CASH. Leave all credit cards in the car!

$20 for cover, $1 tip to front desk bouncer. These guys usually rotate positions throughout the night so I like to have good rapport with all of them.

$8 for the forced water + $2 tip to the waitress. Never sit down in one of the chairs or stools, always be standing. This way you can position yourself near your dancer of choice if she's standing near the bar or the ATM, you can walk away from a dancer who's annoying, etc. Also I'm fat so when I sit down I look fatter LOL. When I stand I look halfway decent (remember, hygiene and looks still matter to these dancers, they ain't robots.).

$120 for the 15-min VIP in the back + $100 tip in a band of 1's. It's a lot more visually impactful to see 100 bills VS. 1 hundred dollar bill. If you get pushback when you say "I only got $100" and you just whip out the stack. Your chances dramatically improve from my experience.

$20 + $1 + $8 + $2 + $120 + $100 = $251 in bills in your wallet / pocket. Whenever you open your wallet to pay for the VIP or to pay the waitress, you want to make sure the dancer sees you only have that amount and no credit cards (remember, they're in your car.) This will mitigate her trying to hold out for more, when she sees there is no more.

Remember, it's okay to walk away and go home empty-handed if none of the girls want to play ball. "The strongest negotiating tactic is to be able to walk away and mean it." If all else fails, you paid $31 to see some boobs and butt cheeks, and practiced your negotiating skills. And you got to spend a few hours away from your ugly wife LOL. That's a win in my book. You live to fight another day. Trust me, you'll feel better with a fatter wallet than a contrite, rushed experience.

*Pro-Tip* I keep an extra $200 in 20's in my sock. These are for the super rare occasions when a super hot dancer is just feeling you for whatever reason, would never look your direction except for that moment, and you're feeling extra frisky yourself. I've probably used this maybe 5 times during my entire strip club experience.

Call your credit card and ask for a chargeback on the $220 and say you already paid which you did. For the club to fight it they will have to specify exactly what the service provided was. FYI you can always walk out early on a VIP to complain to mgmt that the girl refuses to dance. They may or may not offer a replacement VIP.

After our 3 songs were up, I agree to the VIP (Wednesday special). She took my hand and walked me directly to the VIP, which I thought was strange. She told me "$80 VIP". I told her I need to pay with my CC. She took my hand and walked me to the server and told her "$80 VIP". With CC service charge it was $88 total for a 15-minute VIP. So far so good; right? Wrong!

After I paid, we went to the VIP and she then asked if I was going to use the ATM for her $200 tip. Seriously? After I paid for the VIP and while the clock was ticking, she now wants to negotiate the tip. I told her I don't have my ATM card and I don't want to charge my CC again. I told her all I have is $40 cash. She then said, "Sorry; no VIP". Now at this point I know I cannot get a refund on my $88 especially since we burned 5 minutes negotiating. To salvage my $88, I went back to the cashier and caved. Told them to charge the $200 to my CC ($220 total with service charge. Now I just spent $308. As soon as we got back to the room, she said, "You like, you pay me the $40 cash". I did not respond. After the VIP (CFS / CBJ). She then said, "Now give me the $40. You said". I told her I already spent over $300. She then got mad and said, "GIVE ME THE $40! I got mad and said, "NO! I paid you enough". I then walked right out leaving her in the VIP room and then walked out of the club. We need to stay away from these dishonest hustlers. Never again will I deal with her.

This has happened to me with others in the past with the girl disappearing or majorly cutting time. A couple times mgmt offered a VIP with another girl as a makeup. I was willing to make a bit of a scene as I was pissed. Later learned they were known ROBs. Thankfully both are gone (Janelle, Dutchess).

I've had her twice (Pixie) First time I had her was for $$. Second time she quoted me $$ and 1/2. However, the second time she was intoxicated and scammed me. Manager should've taken her off the floor. Like after I paid for VIP she disappeared for like 15 min. Management had to go get her. Then once in VIP she dipped out again saying she forgot something. By the time we got started the damn bouncer came in and said time is up. I was surprised and didn't feel like causing a scene because I didn't even get time with her. So best of luck if you decide to go for it.

It's probably only a few girls in danger of not selling the daily minimum. Club mgmt knows some girls who sit around just need a few whales as regulars who tip them ridiculous amounts on a shift. So there is less incentive to sell dances to customers who don't tip as much. Basically the club wants its cut of their extras tips but they can't actually say that without admitting they are essentially running a whorehouse.

I thought it was the Dynamax case that created the ABC rule which classified them as employees?

The court case triggered it. But the legislature then codified the decision in law. And the court decision was statutory so the legislature certainly could have amended the law to change the rule. So I stand by my statement that it was the asshats in Sacramento (which would include the court as well).

Devil's advocate: it might be harder on a slow Tuesday night shift if very few customers show up.

The real problem, of course, is that the asshats in Sacramento decided that dancers need to get paid a salary. That's $16 per hour plus what they need to set aside for benefits. It's almost certainly as much as the $19/ hour you cited. Doesn't make sense to pay a dancer who isn't bringing in revenue. That said, a hard and fast rule counting only bad days seems pretty short sighted. But what would you expect in this industry?

Understood. I'm under no illusions that certain days / nights will be harder based on how many willing customers show up. (Speaking of which, anybody notice Saturday nights at SR have like, 4-5 dancers lately?) I'm of the opinion that dancers will avoid slow shifts and hustle even harder on busy shifts = better for the customer. Hell, maybe over time to overcome the slow shifts, management may introduce a special better than Thursdays 30 min for $140 to entice more customers. Wishful thinking I suppose LOL. I mean that's the logical thing to do. But then again when has management been logical hehe.
