I haven't done all the accounting, but it seems cheaper to rent than to buy. The current model will become to expensive to maintain, and the trade in value will be limited buying a new model doesn't begin to make sense. And you have lots of sunk costs (weddings, vacations to in-laws, etc) and recurring costs to think about. Let's see personally I've been getting my full treatments at 4 x week. Avg. 150-250 (HF included) per session (600-1000) yearly. Cost 31200-52000. About 41,600.

Half treatments. 3-5 x week (120-140) HF included. On the high side 36,400.

2012 prices.

Full Treatment 150 (HF included) 40 for the hour back then, those were the days. 31,200.

1/2 treatment 80-100 (HF included).

Coming from a family that ALL of the members have died from either drug or alcohol addictions or both, thanks for ending this senseless tirade and BS. It's a known and well proven medical fact that the genetic propensity for addictions pass to the child family members of addicts / alcoholics. Some never follow that path, and many others do, my daughter and grandkids are aware of the propensity and are taking a hard pass on alcohol etc, from what my wife and I passed on to them.

My mom, dad, older brother, and first wife are all gone from this disorder / disease, whatever you care to characterize this as. I'll listen to anyone if all they want to do is rant and rave, but actively telling them they are a waste oxygen and space pushes that limit, it's getting too much. I'm all about discourse, if you want to try and persuade me I'll give you the chance. I'll listen to any reasonable considered argument that evolves with facts and then weigh it. I may never agree with you but as long as the discourse is civil and I have time I'm happy to listen.

If you want to know how a modern society successfully deals with addiction look to Portugal. I've been sober forever and I personally think we should decriminalize all drugs and give them to people for free. Let people smoke, snort, eat, shoot whatever drug they want. We could do that and feed and house all the junkies in the USA for a fraction of the cost that we are currently paying for interdiction and incarceration.

Well, I'll jump in here. I mean what is a "disease"? You cannot say that substance addiction is like cancer, can you? It's not even like, say, bipolar disorder. The predisposition to becoming addicted might be an illness, but like eating pork when heart disease runs in the family, you have a choice to live a healthy lifestyle.
