Sorry that happened to you. But, as others have said, cancellations should really be the last resort because the consequences can be quite severe. You may have some leeway if you're a long time client but it doesn't seem like it. I was hoping that the hint I left in the latter paragraph coupled with the vague and nebulous descriptions used that run counter how I usually compose my reviews would be adequate to clue you in on what's up. But like all things, context is everything.

This does bring up a topic I want to touch on that can help a good number of new mongers. And that is forming your own approach and evaluation of reviews here and elsewhere. Ideally, one review should not be end-all and be-all when deciding who to see. It can be as simple or complicated as you like as long as you find it fit for use and aligns with what you what out of the hobby. Unless, you're one of the TOFTTers that trail blaze for others and knows the risks involved (or perhaps does it because of the risks), putting time to researching and back channeling is incredibly important and should be inversely proportional to how much you value the money you spend on this hobby. No one is going to have a perfect batting average, anyone in this hobby long enough have had to power through sessions they would not otherwise participate in. Whether that was because of a bait and switch, a disingenious review, or bad intel, it will eventually happen. The goal is to limit those encounters.

You should never cancel in general, let alone a prebook. This is one of those times where the customer is never right. Especially on a superstar who's only booked by a single booker.

For others, never cancel when booker said "no cancellations" or "no last minute cancellation". It's even worse when you cancel a superstar.
