I know MA isn't big on which county you're in, but I feel like North Shore is essentially Essex County. Burlington, etc is in Middlesex County and I would agree that they're both suburban Boston or North Suburban.

This has always been an issue for me as well. The most common Boston area descriptors are North Shore, South Shore, Merrimack Valley and Metrowest. That leaves out some important sectors. I think NW Burbs is the one you're looking for here.
