Areas to avoid: Depends on what you want to do in Louisville. All areas are dangerous nowadays. But to actually be careful, avoid downtown, west end and south end of Louisville. Don't go wandering out at night. You have a good chance of being hit by a car. There have been some recent hit and runs in downtown Louisville. There are a lot of homeless in downtown Louisville. Don't stop and talk to.

Any of them, just keep walking. If you're going to do incall, since you're not from here, it's best to do a hotel incall and not get an uber to some random apartment or house. If you do want to get dropped off, make sure you Google maps the address first and look at the street and surrounding streets to get a good idea of what the neighborhood's like. Food: Anywhere in downtown Louisville is pretty good for what you're looking for. 4th Street Live is a touristy area and you might like PBR, it's a country club / bar. But again, it's downtown and not the safest area to be alone.
