Use a prepaid Visa card. As long as it has enough balance to cover the room charge and the holdover charge (typically $100 to $150) it works just fine.

Another post had good idea about the lost wallet. If it is to see a SB, or someone like that, have them put the room in their name and you pay them the cash. I was with a GR provider when she got a room at Rodeway inn on 28th street and used cash without an issue, so that might be a good option for you.

I have done this three times. My approach in each case was to go to a nice place and tell them that I was from out of town and had my wallet stolen. Luckily, my cash and driver license were in my pocket. I am clean cut and drive a nice car. I was at places that I looked like I belonged in. No problems. Most importantly, don't let the girl stay in the room when you are done if you use your real license.

Another alternative to the truck stop option is a Planet Fitness membership. They're all over. They have showers. Great when you need a shower after too, for those of you with that need. .

I just had conversations with her before anything happen for like 10 minutes maybe? Just to calm my nerves and get a feel for her but also ask questions in terms of what was available to me at the time.
