That said however, the last time I tried this with a onevanilla card, it did not work either.

Looks like Vanilla no longer works FunnyB. I went to Redditt's SD forum and I found the following comments about prepaid gift cards, looks like some gift card companies are blocking SA:

So that's a bummer. I heard that paying a google play card works, but it will only work on android. Not changing my phone tho.
