I think childcare and holiday break / family gatherings is playing a part in recent availability, much less the "flu" that's going around everywhere now. Kids are home sick or on break, which means the providers should be upfront there is potential for the flu etc. One recent provider contacted me and cancelled which was fine. She truly was sick.

As far as texting. (Mentioned further down from others) You have to presume you WILL receive unwanted, poorly timed, text messages that might not be wanted. The same goes for spam messages from Viagra sellers, fake bank messages, etc. During this holiday break, anyone with kids has to get a sitter or make arrangements, meaning odd random availability.

The one huge huge huge (I'll say it one more time) HUGE pet peeve are providers that send "group texts" where everyone can see one another's numbers. Unbelievably that occurred with me but I wasn't even the intended recipient. I'd never seen the person. I blocked that number and provider (I checked the number and sure enough, it's on a site). I'm sure some ladies may be reading these messages. At minimum please don't send "group" text messages. (Most don't). I've gotten, to date, two group text messages with people replying back and forth, not quite understanding everyone can see one another's messages, numbers, even arrangements. Absurd.
