For that 8-10 hours, the pay will range anywhere from $1500-$3000 depending on the girl's notoriety and if there any additional acts like DP, anal, etc. That same girl can make $1500 in an hour. So it's not really out of necessity, but just a much higher ROI with time. With the rise of content creator sites like OF and MV and the steady monthly income that comes from that, it really takes the necessity of having to be in LA very minimal. A lot of girls are now moving out of LA and very few actually live in the Valley. A number of the P.S. That I have become close avoid LA like the plague. Many are moving to LV, Texas, Arizona, and Florida. There are some that in NYC, but not a lot. NYC, Philly, and DC are areas where a lot of visits happen, but nothing long term.

From my experience, I agree that pornstars don't really make their money shooting content. The key for most of them is to get name recognition / branding. This way they can escort at a higher fee, headline at a strip joint, start their OF, etc. Keep in mind it's been almost 8 years since I last shot content with pornstars in LA. But for a straight forward boy / girl shoot which usually took me about 2 hours the going rate was about $1000 + $100 agency fee. Of the $1000, the agency (ie ocmodeling, ladirect, motley models) usually takes about another 10% as well. And two hours is considered short, from what they've told me sometimes their day is 5-8 hours being on set. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that an hour of escorting pays better and is less work if they can get accept the stigma attached to it.

I must say that during my short time of shooting, I only had one that I regretted booking and it was because she showed up drunk and made a scene at the hotel I was shooting at. Absolutely. Escorting especially at the rates they go for is probably higher than most make in PORN. Porn unfortunately is a highly compeitive low pay business. The ones that actually make good money are the ones that go into production themselves or start their own side business. From previous threads on the topic.
