Orlando seems to be pretty much a Chinese-dominated market. I can't say that I've turned up ANY Koreans at all, and only an occasional Malaysian or Japanese at the mostly Chinese staffed / run places. As a counter to my trips to Milk. During my trip to Orlando this week. I thought I'd also give a try to CB since there have been so many good reviews here lately.

I honestly don't see it. I triple-checked to make sure that I was in the right place. The place just seemed really run down. Just wrapped up another week of work in Orlando and was able to make a couple trips to Milk.

The place I witnessed this practice going on was in Metro Detroit on the edge of a sketchy part of town and right next to a very busy major freeway overpass. I had read online about these guys trying to grift AMP customers for cash, so I never actually fell into the predicament.

Unfortunately, the AMP was the only place in that market that, at the time, was offering service almost close to Milk, so the nature of the surrounding area wasn't enough of a deterrent to keep customers away. Any time I even SAW those guys in the parking lot, I just didn't stop. I would usually drive into the parking lot of a White Castle across the freeway from which one could scope out the entire parking lot to see if those guys were there or not.

While these practices served to assure I never encountered the "offer" to watch my car, should I have ever been approached by anyone that I missed in my recon my planned approach was to say to them "Oh! Thanks... I didn't think of that. I didn't bring enough money for you, so let me run across the street to the ATM to get what you need and I'll be right back." Then I would get in my car and drive off, praying they wouldn't do anything as long as they were hoping for me to return with money for them. Of course, I just would not return at all and count my blessings to have gotten out of there without further trouble.

As I said, I never had to employ that strategy, but the risks ran deep enough through my mind that I had it all thought/planned out!

I've observed that opinions and feelings about this vary. While you make a very good point about, literally, taking into an AMP ONLY what you need, this also implies that you, personally, feel safe about leaving valuables (smartphone, wallet, etc.) in your car. Meanwhile, other guys are terrified of someone smashing a window in their car (or even just using a slim-jim to unlock a door), and relieving them of any such valuables not taken into the AMP with them.

This may vary from AMP to AMP. For example, the Milk parking lot would seem to be too visible from a very busy street, let alone too busy itself (with guys driving in and out of there every 5 minutes) for there to seem to be much risk of car issues. On the other hand, the inside of Milk would seem still safer, given that Keiko isn't about to tolerate any of her girls doing anything so stupid as rifle through a client's belongings, which would be so quickly reported (here and other public boards) that it would kill her business.
