Just wanted to rant a bit. Since covid, both my company and my SO's company went 100% remote and eliminated their in-person offices. I've had to reconfigure my home to accommodate both of us working from home 100%. Sadly, this means I've been out of the game drastically these past 2 1/2 years as my wife has effectively also become my work wife. We're around each other every day all day. It's basically impossible to get out during the day for some fun as I once was able to. On rare occasion, I've been able to hit an AMP, but no where near the frequency I once was able to. Pre-covid I was going weekly. She never leaves the house, and if she does it's during time where the rugrats need supervision. I was able to get out a couple weeks back when she had to travel for work, but her travel is very rare.
Not looking for sympathy or anything as I have a good family life. Just missing that extra something and wanted to rant it out here a bit. Anyone in a similar situation with any advice?

Posts: 384There is an effect with masks, but it's not the whole picture. If your indoor air circulation is crap, infections will still run rampant. Bioaerosols can hang around in the air like smoke for hours.

Ginzo I'm good on what you just said, full agreement l. The point to this whole thread was maskas are not as effective as the CDC made them out to be, and they admitted it. That's all No one said masks weren't good. That's allllllll that was being said. But some had to take to an extreme and make it bigger than it needed to be. Why, I don't know, I really don't care. Good point below BTW. Ebola is a bit of a different animal as well m.

If you really believe "immunity debt" is a thing, then the logical conclusion is that you should hop a plane to wherever the next Ebola outbreak is. Good luck with that, BTW. No need for the Ebola vaccine either. Got to get that "natural" immunity.

LOL, you're obviously not in the medical field. We've seen a 300% rise in RSV do to masks. Known fact in my field, and it's been the center of much discussion. Also, why would you believe anything the CDC says. Haven't you learned by now? Even an uneducated person can see the inconsistent and waffling responses, and sometimes polarized responss, is just constant lies. Gee, it's a good thing I'm uneducated, lol. Ha ha. Good luck with your PhD.

Posts: 619Depends on the definition of effective.
Even an uneducated person can realize that wearing masks decreases the amount of germs that enter the body. The CDC states use of an mask is better than no masks. The best prevention is wearing masks, keeping booster on the vaccination, and keeping distance. I have followed these, except for distance while in the hobby and have not had COVID.

You have a choice to go to places where the ladies do not wear masks and where they do. I recommend that you do not look down on any individuals that wear masks to protect themselves and others. At least we are trying to fight the pandemic unlike you self centered people that refuse to wear a mask. But then again it is your right to be inconsiderate.

The CDC is for sure not an authoritative source. Political maybe, and definitely agenda driven.

I didn't miss read anything. That' s just one of a hundred articles. What difference does it make if it's 1% effective or 10%effective. The point is they do not do what they claim to do. And the CDC admitted it. No double duh here. Here's a direct quote: "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has admitted that*cloth masks have never been effective.".
Have a great day.
