You're talking about a fairly rare occurrence. It makes a hell of a lot more sense to refer to the post number rather than the page. At least they have a shot of finding it a week later. I mostly mentioned it because a lot of guys don't realize how the page number changes, I didn't until I went to read a post that I had read a week earlier and remembered the page number and it wasn't there. In case you haven't noticed, Post numbers can change also. If the Admin or a user removes a post, the numbers of the post will reorder. Therefore, what was once post #XXXX becomes #XXXY. And I'm not talking about posts that the Admin has flagged, deleted the problem content in the post and stated the reason. These remain in the forum. I'm talking about posts that vanish from the forum. I have had this happen. They don't even exist under my posts when I look in my account. So the point being is if you refer readers to a specific post, and the number has changed, the reader will be confused and possibly mislead by what they are reading.
