I agree with you, 3 hours will never work.

3 airports, nearest is LGA and that will take time to get into midtown by train. JfK / Newark may have better train but you are talking about 50 min each way minimum. If you only do 30 minutes at a spa where you manage the time very well, you are back to the airport best case that's already 130 minutes assuming you wasted Zero time.
