People have that a little confused. If your sugar mama sends you 1000 bucks every month like clockwork, Venmo is not going to create a 1099 for you. That is extremely invasive and also doesn't make sense; a gift is not payment. You are only sent a 1099 if the account is set up as a business profile and the payments exceed 600 dollars or if the sender identifies their transfer is for a good or service when they transfer the money, and those payments exceed 600. That being said, I agree with the sentiment. Never smart to leave a digital fingerprint. Cash rules, always.

The only way you can find out if they're on vacation is to know their last name and first initial at least. That's why I usually ask when I feel comfortable that they are comfortable.
