I just had a shower thought. Maybe all these price hikes are because they are anticipating everything to crash soon, so they're trying to milk it as much as possible before time runs out.

Or maybe business has already slowed, and they are hiking prices to compensate, which is counterintuitive.

With stocks going down, tech layoffs increasing, house prices declining, mongers might not feel so wealthy soon.
