After the amazing number of posts that came from the V. I. P. Storm it is only natural for everyone to kinda burn out on repeat "I got mine too" posts that flooded the forum. How many times can you read the same type of post about how great a girl is or how great a spa is before you stop reading them?

And when mostly FS action became the main topic of interest, I think many of the hour massage HE guys backed away from posting.

I think part of the problem is there are so many fake adds it's hard to pick out what's real. Much more convenient to hit a nearby AMP, no waiting for an reply, and easier to just walk away.

I've definitely just been to the places I've known or that's been reported 1000 x. The new leads I do find usually are dead ends.

Man, compared to the San Gabriel Valley section I usually read, you guys are burning it up. I realize that SD is a city and SGV is just a part of LA, but SGV has about 2 million residents--and more Chinese residents than the next 44 states *combined*vs San Diego's 1. 5 million. Not sure if things are slowing down, but I agree there is less posting. So much so that I find myself looking at the ads on the sides which I've always ignored. Maybe it's been there all the time, but I noticed now that there is one for "Power Divorce. " I assume it's targeted advertising. It got me wondering how much business they get from mongers who got caught or decided that they'd rather monger than deal with their wives. How many of us have clicked on that ad? The review and comments section for 108/ ocean has gotten to be a complete shitshow. And a continuation of the drama in the "stupid shit in san Diego" forum from months ago.

I may get some hate for this but I just want to get this off my chest:

What do some people get out of defending the parlor as if their life depended on it? I feel like the "defenders" of 108/ ocean make the problem worst than the trolls.

They give the trolls the most attention by replying 20-30 times to these fake reviews and that makes people click on those reviews even more.

As a former internet troll in my teenage years 10-20 years ago, I highly recommend just ignoring them and moving on with your life. Going off at the trolls and defending the AMP as if someone insulted your mother makes the trolls happier and makes them feel like they accomplished their "job" and will encourage them to continue doing so even more.

Think about it. These trolls spend 5 minutes top on creating a bs review and the same 5-10 people spend the next 3 days replying to each other and calling people out.

A lot of the white knights try to claim that these trolls are paid shills or owners of other parlors but if I had to bet money on it, I would guess that most of them are the same one or two people that are just getting a kick out of seeing the reaction that he gets from the defenders. Maybe I'm blissfully ignorant but just looking at their writing styles and responses, most of them are probably the same person.

There are plenty of fake 5 star reviews for other parlors but those users and reviews don't get called out. If anything, these are the types of reviews that we need to call out.

As a now (ex) member of rubmaps, don't trust reviews at the first glance. Click through to the user's profile and IMO it's a red flag if their profile is private.

You'll notice some spas have the same 5 star reviews by the same 2-3 people out of the blue. Most likely fake but it's getting harder to catch these accounts since they have started to make their profiles private.

Even just a few months ago, you could see somewhere like spa bello or rancho Bernardo spa (coming up with 4-5 star reviews out of nowhere and if you checked the user profiles before they were private, they were posting the same review in multiple spas across different cities and states.

108/ ocean is so well established at this point, the troll reviews are so easy to spot and ignore.

There's a reason the phrase "don't feed the troll" has been around since the beginning of the internet.

Anyways my high is completely gone but at least I'm saving 20 bucks a month on my rubmaps membership now.
