In the settings section on your profile, go to "Search and Dashboard" it gives two choices: Hidden or Visible. Choose "hidden" if you want the bot traffic to go away. If you keep it as visible, you'll still come up in someone's search results, but you'll also catch spam.

I keep mine hidden, but let people know when I've looked at their profile or favorited them.

Same thing happened with me yesterday. I've been a member for many years and this all of a sudden happened. I had renewed the day before. I lodged a complaint with support and said we need a way to block people that aren't local and they just said that isn't supported at the moment. I know they are scam accounts, but it's very distracting and annoying.

Is your subscription set to expire. They make you a featured member right before that so you get blown up by a bunch of people and you have to renew to see the messages. Any message from another country or state I delete immediately. Waste of time.

I don't usually post here but just happened to read the thread. I am having the same experience w / girls from South America favoriting me. And this is very unusual because I keep my profile hidden from search. I put in a customer service ticket (two actually) w / SA, that something had gone wrong with that.
