Nearly anyone can post an STG or MegaPersonals ad. (Our local STG branch seems to be doing a better job lately of stopping these, but it still can happen. And at a glance, about 75% are the ads on MP are scams.) There may be some hoops to jump through, sure, but in the end, it's not hard to create an account and post. Thus, it's easy for a bad actor to create a scam ad.

Your bad actor is not local. Your bad actor is probably in a call center in India, Pakistan, the Ukraine, or Russia. They're using Cash App or gift cards because they can't be charged back (although apparently the Cash App situation may have changed in this regard).

A bad actor can pose as a local girl, promising the moon, the sun, and the stars (or, in hobby language, BBBJ, BBFS, and anal, even ATM, for 100 mario coins). And that bad actor says that they only take Cash App or gift cards, and the gullible will send such payment, and then are given an address of a local hotel (which was found by the bad actor on Google).

Once our victim has paid the money, and drives to the hotel, and texts for a room number, only crickets are heard, and there is no moon, no sun, no stars. Just a hobbyist, 100 mario coins lighter with his dick in his hands, his dreams dashed.

Do your research. Look on this board. Google the phone number and see if there's a SumoSearch listing, and see if she's advertising in multiple areas.

Here's an example of an obvious scam ad (see the picture). See how she's advertising every possible sex act? Yeah, no actual provider is going to do that, because that's a nice way to get a visit from the po-po. And if you text that ad, you'll get a litany of text telling you she'll rock your world, offer you a low rate, and tell you she needs payment via gift cards. Or Cash App. Or a deposit.
