I suppose it goes without saying, but you'll want to strip the metadata from any photo you send; it could geolocate your bedroom or workplace if you took it there and didn't get rid of the location data. Can't generalize, but my own tendency is to avoid sending a face pic just because I have no idea where the phone it shows up on is likely to be by the end of the day, but that's just me.
